Seth was born in Evanston, Illinois but was raised in Bedford, New Hampshire. His younger brother is fellow actor/comedian Josh Meyers. Seth attended Northwestern University where he was an active member of the school’s improv group Mee-Ow. After college, he continued developing his improv skills at ImprovOlympic in Chicago.
He joined the cast of SNL in 2001. Four years later he was named writing supervisor for the show before becoming the head writer in 2006. On SNL, Seth hit his stride when he became the host of Weekend Update alongside Amy Poehler. In February 2014, Seth Meyers took over Jimmy Fallon’s spot as host of the talk show “Late Night” on NBC. Jimmy Fallon simultaneously took over Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show. Seth Meyers will earn $3 million per year to host “Late Night”. During his career so far, Seth has been nominated for many prominent awards. He has won two Writers Guild of America awards and a Primetime Emmy for his work on Saturday Night Live.
